Afternoon tea treat

Ever been tempted by a beautiful gradient dyed skein, then wondered how best to show it off? Look no further than the pretty ‘Spearmint Tea’ by Kateryna Golovanova. This simple shawl pattern is an excellent way to showcase your gradient yarns, although it would most likely work with long repeat self striping yarns too. Of course, a semi solid would do the job admirably, adding a real touch of understated glamour.

This pattern would work well in most yarn bases, with the original being knit in cotton, showing the versatility of the pattern. I’d be tempted by an alpaca silk blend here, although it’s more common to find gradients dyed onto the sock suitable bases. A lovely high silk content yarn would also be perfect for this pattern.

What would you knit yours in?
