Great all rounder

You’ve tonnes of choice of yarns when it comes to knitting the ‘Kirsibaum’ cowl by Simone Kereit. The woven slip stitch pattern adds interesting texture to the design, and would also pick out different colours in a variegated yarn and show them off beautifully.

The cowl looks lovely and soft in the singles yarn it is worked up in for the project photos, and illustrates how well the pattern showcases variegated yarns. A self-stripe with a reasonable length colour repeat would work well, as would the simplistic beauty of a semi solid. In terms of base, you could go for more or less any blend that you are happy wearing next to the skin. A buttery soft alpaca would be perfect.

What would you knit this in?
