Silk and lace

If lace shawls are your thing, look no further than the glorious ‘Crescent Over Lothlorien’ by Cordula Surmann-Schmitt. One half of the fabulous German-based dyeing duo, DyeForYarn, Cordula has a penchant for knitting lace – that is how DyeForYarn started – and as you can see in the pictures, a keen eye for design and eye-catching colour.

The perfect partner for this pattern is a high silk content yarn, that will shimmer in the light and drape effortlessly over the shoulders or around the neck. A well-balanced semi solid is needed here, to allow the texture, lace and sheen to take centre stage.

What would you knit yours in?

#FreeYourSkeins2015 is a Project 365 by The Golden Skein. Want to find out more about it? Check out this page for details.
