Tweet, tweet, little birdie!

It’s hard not to fall for the supremely cute birds on the ‘Aviary’ cowl by Katie White. The pretty colour work pattern is complimented by the knitted lining on this cowl, keeping all the floats nicely tucked away and adding an extra cosiness factor. The pattern comes with instructions for both fingering and DK weight versions, meaning it’s an excellent way to free multiple skeins at two weights. Winner!

The cowl will work very well in semi solid or solid yarns, although you could try a mild variegated or self-striping yarn for the motifs, to add a bit of interest. High twist yarns will add crisp stitch definition, and give this cowl some structure, so it can hold up its own weight to show off those bird details.

What would you knit this in?
