Beaded glamour

If you’re looking to free a luxurious skein and create a signature accessory that will add a touch of razzmatazz to any outfit, ‘Glitz at the Ritz’ should be top of your list. This fabulous free pattern from Knitty First Fall 2013 is the perfect way to really showcase a stunning skein of yarn, with the added glamour of beads to twinkle in the evening light.

For this pattern, a yarn base with plenty of drape and a good amount of shimmer would be the perfect choice. An alpaca/silk or merino/silk would be entirely appropriate to give warmth with sheen from the silk. Keeping the colour way choice to a semi-solid or solid will avoid overpowering the lace and beads, whilst allowing the pattern to shine through. Go for a lighter shade for the perfect summer accessory, or rich and jewelled shades for opulent winter glamour.

What would you knit yours in?
