Looking for sock patterns perfect for highly variegated skeins?

Look no further. Sock supremo Clare Devine has teamed up with the utterly fabulous Scottish hand dyer Helen Lockhart of Ripplescrafts to produce two sock patterns perfectly suited to those beautiful, super-colourful skeins. ‘Slipt’ is one of two patterns designed to pair with a special Edinburgh Yarn Festival colour way, designed by Helen, but which would be equally good with any of her colour ways dyed in her ‘Assynt Storms’ technique. This dye style is characterised by short repeats of colours.

If you have a super variegated pretty, which you’re desperate to pair up with the perfect pattern, but are unsure how to decide which one to go for, ‘Slipt’ is highly recommended. The slip stitches in the pattern allow little pods of colour to be showcased, with the rest of the sock being kept simple, to allow the rest of the yarn to shine in its own glory.

What would you knit yours in?
