Colourwork mitts – and cake!

The fantastic ‘Ecclefechan Mitts’ by Kate Davies are sure to liven up any outfit. Named after a small town in the borders, which was the birthplace of Thomas Carlyle, the pattern also contains a recipe for Ecclefechan Tarts.

This pattern looks striking in high contrast solid colour ways and would also work well in more tonal pits of colours.

What would you knit yours in?
